Our Story — Rising Reels

Rising Reels is a Seattle nonprofit dedicated to media education, creative empowerment, and visual storytelling across the Pacific Northwest.

Our Story & Roots

Based in Seattle, Washington, Rising Reels creates accessible opportunities for individuals to explore film and digital media. We believe storytelling inspires understanding, encourages creativity, and brings communities together. Through workshops, mentorship, and youth media programs, we empower emerging storytellers with hands-on technical skills and creative confidence.

Our Impact

Our Philosophy

Through hands-on media initiatives and digital media training, Rising Reels provides community workshops and youth mentorship. We foster inclusive creative spaces where participants experiment with camera techniques, video editing, and narrative design.

We believe every voice deserves to be heard. Our core values—creativity, inclusion, collaboration, and empowerment—guide all our programs. By connecting participants with experienced filmmakers, educators, and community partners, we help turn ideas into powerful visual stories.

Our Creative Team

Our dedicated team of filmmakers, educators, and community leaders share a passion for storytelling and media literacy. Together, we guide the next generation of Pacific Northwest creators.
